I am a mother of 2 daughters, and still part of the day to day full time corporate world but yet spreading my wings to entrepreneurship where I can use my creative side and passion for home décor and design.
I had first opened my shop called Naught Too Shabby in May of 2016 in Westlake, Ohio. Naught Too Shabby offers a mix of new and old home furnishings, unique gifts, and vintage furniture. I love to go to estate sales and find unique pieces that I can refresh and alter according to my customers’ needs and space.
My favorite tools used to refresh these pieces is Miss Lillian’s No Wax Chock Paint, which is sold in my store. I carry a wide range of Miss Lillian’s products including base coats, paints in various colors, glazes and embellishing butters, and top coats for extra protection. I am always willing to give guidance in how to use these products and will be offering classes soon.
My favorite part about owning the store is I love meeting new people and helping them to create a comfortable space in their home. I love when I sell someone paint products and they come running in showing me their pictures on their phone of what they created and how excited they are that they did that. I will custom paint a piece for someone but I’d rather they did it themselves. It’s so easy and, at the same time, so rewarding. I also have met so many nice, great, people; it just doesn’t feel like work.
Naught Too Shabby also offers a terrarium bar where customers can come in and create their own terrariums. I have air plants, succulents, and assorted pots and globes. You pick a plant and planter and then get to work, using an array of decorative materials such as sand, rocks, moss, and miniature figurine displays to design your very own setting.
Naught Too Shabby recently relocated, and had its Grand Opening Saturday, May 12th, 2018. The store is now located at 1150 Linda Street Rocky River, Ohio 44146. I am located right next to “The Closet” (upscale consignment shop).
